I’m so unlucky to know you for eight lifetimes! Chapter 2

Taking advantage of 10 minutes before getting off work, I quickly took out the small mirror to tidy myself up. The blind date this time was in a very high-end Western restaurant.

My phone vibrated and I touched it with my hands and took just one glance before I hastily answered it, declaring beforehand, “I can only give you three minutes because I have something to do later!”

“Hey, I’m downstairs in your company, how about I take you for a ride after work?”

I was shocked and quickly peered out the window. Eighteen floors down she was small to a point, but still abstractly exudes an infinite pull.

“Not good!” I gritted my teeth, “Why do you always so things like that? I’m busy tonight!”

“You have something to do? Oh, ah, it doesn’t matter, you’re busy. Then I’ll just take a ride on my own and go back.”

The cold wind whistles wildly from my ears, the motorcycle is about to fly off on the sparsely populated highway, and I’m forced to close my eyes and hug her waist so tight I suspect my false eyelashes are about to be ripped off by the wind!

Damn it! Damn it! I’m freezing! I’m used to wearing a thin windbreaker for the winter! Who knew that the unreliable Jade would suddenly get the wrong idea…

Okay, I’ll admit that I’m the one with the wrong nerve. Because no sane person with a normal mind would give up a steak dinner and warm air conditioning then choose to be a drag racing girl with a face full of makeup on a day that doesn’t exceed 5 degrees — I’m crazy, I’m crazy…

I don’t know how long it had been going on, but it was completely dark when we pulled over. When I got out of the motorcycle, I looked around in confusion, and the only thing I could be sure of was: I must have arrived somewhere near the countryside.

Because the temperature here, compared to before, seemed to be two degrees lower….

She began pounding away at the large bag, and soon had a pile on the floor: a dozen beers, and some snacks that were more amazing than beer.

“Well, this is about it. Here it is.”

She was talking to herself as she was laying. The corners of my mouth twitched, “So you drove me out here to have a picnic with me?”

She didn’t answer, just shook her head very deeply, “Snacks are all yours, feel free to eat.”

She said as she silently opened a can of beer. Her attention was distant, empty, and the lights of thousands of homes reflected the color of her lost eyes. The delicate, sculpted side of her face was haunted by flying shreds of hair.

The image caused me to experience something like morning sickness straight away.

“You’re not over with your breakup yet, are you?”

“…a little sympathy, okay? I’ve been dumped for the third time…”

“Yeah, so it’s time to get used to it, right?”

“Just because I resigned this time, she said I had no sense of responsibility.” She was indignant, “She also said that not only did I not think about our future, but I didn’t even think about my own future…”

“That’s exactly right!” I simply want to applaud the fact that such insightful ones still exist among her warblers. No wonder she was dumped!

“Laure!” She gulped down her drink a bit pretentious, “Are you my friend or not?”

“No, I’m as good a woman as any.” I replied crisply, grabbing her drink in passing, “No drinking.”

“Are you kidding me, I’m just looking for a place to drink today. Just stay with me if you’re a friend!”

“Okay, but first you have to tell me how I’m going to get back when you’re drunk.”

She was stunned, “Uh, I never thought about that…worst case, we’ll just take a cab back!”

“What about your motorcycle? Leave it here overnight and it’s sure to get stolen.”

“Then…okay, I know a chain hotel near here, and I can deal with a night there if I can’t!”

“What about me?”

“Take a cab!”

“Have you done the math on how much it costs to get a cab from here to downtown? And you let me take a cab alone in the middle of the night?”

“…” She was already on the verge of becoming dizzy, “Then you can stay with me and make it through the night.”

“With you? Who knows if you’ll get beastly when you’re drunk. I don’t have any faith in your character.”

“You-” she was on the verge of madness, “I just wanted to find a cooler environment to have a drink to say goodbye to an old love. How come you, how come you can give me in no emotion at all?”

“How can you blame me for that? Obviously, you didn’t plan well in advance!” I innocently blinked and stopped by to grab a packet of pickled chicken feet to nibble on. Well, the taste is not bad.

“Isn’t it boring to calculate your life like that? Why don’t you go become a lawyer!” She finally broke down.

“Thanks.” I took it as a compliment and acted full of joy.

“You you you-” she pulled her carefully styled hair into a spikes in frustration. “If I can’t drink, what am I doing here?”

I held the rest of the chicken feet out to her, “This tastes good, eat it.”

—————— – Caw – Caw – aw – a flock of crows flew by ——————

After eating aimlessly for a while, an extra strong cold wind suddenly passed through, instantly causing the long string of sneezes that I had been holding in for a long time to burst out in full force.

“Huh? Are you cold?” Someone with hindsight comparable to a prehistoric animal turned back to me and raised my collar, “Ah! Is that all you’re wearing inside?”

I rolled my eyes in my mind, “Fortunately, I won’t die.”

She started to take off her jacket without saying a word, and I suddenly softened, “Hey, no no no…”

She didn’t have any trouble at all, so she put her jacket on my shoulders and said, “Didn’t I say I didn’t think you were ugly? Why do you have to wear so much makeup just to see me, and only this much, ugh, you make me feel guilty…”

I smirked and threw out a fake Beijing accent, “You are really kind, but let me remind you that you are not very smart. So if you accidentally freeze up one or two neurons, it will be easier to be dumped in the future. I can’t bear to see that happen.”

After we pushed each other like a bunch of kids, she suddenly pulled her jacket and wrapped us in it-.

“Don’t move! We’re not fat, so we’re enough together!”

To be honest, I was a bit confused – I only knew that her short hair was itchy on the side of her neck, that the body wash she was using smelled good, and that my heart was beating a bit…erratically.

I don’t know how long it went on like this, but it was like I was in a constant state of “the world had left me”.

“Huh?” I suddenly realized she was calling me and immediately responded loudly and reflexively. But to my surprise, I felt her touching my hand, “What are you thinking?”

“You’re freezing like a popsicle, go back.”

On the way back, I was wearing the jacket that she had coerced me to put on, so I wasn’t cold anymore; but it was really…unbearable for me to watch her fly around in a thin T-shirt against the cold wind.

So, out of the spirit of humanitarian friendship and mutual help, I pressed hard against her back and hugged her waist. Trying to protect her from the wind as much as possible. At this time she spoke, but the wind was blowing too hard, so I couldn’t hear what she said clearly….

“What did you say?” I probed out loud.

“Don’t touch my chest!”

“! @#%*&….*”

When we finally arrived at my house it was late at night and I saw that she was freezing, so I just couldn’t resist asking, “Do you want to take a hot shower at my house first?”

That’s how the disaster came out.

By the time I was done with the shower and ready to kick her out, she was slumped over on my limited edition Persian blanket drinking. So she’s finally found a place to drink?

“Jade!” I kicked her, “You can go home now!”

She smiled heartlessly at me like she didn’t understand Chinese, “Ah, are you done washing? Come on, let’s drink!”

“Why do we have to drink? Are you really that sad?” I put my arms around her chest and looked at her, and suddenly I felt a little… out of breath.

At the words she was thinking very hard and her expression changed instantly, “Uh, it was pretty sad, but somehow now I feel as if it’s okay…”

My breath finally managed to come out, “So what else are you drinking? It’s so late, go home!”

“Who says you can only drink if you’re sad? You can drink even if you’re happy! How can we not celebrate the fact that such a suave and gloriously handsome T like me is finally back to being single?” She said so excitedly and came to pull me, begging for it!

“I have to work tomorrow! Hey! You…”

  1. Ah yes. The aura of a dense (and slightly tsundere) protagonist is strong with this one. She still hasn’t realize her feelings for Jade yet ah.

    Hahahha. Such a cute couple.
